Taina Tervonen was born in Finland, grew up in Senegal, lives in Paris and writes in French. She also wrote the book Grobničarke in the same language, which was excellently translated by Nihad Hasanović, and coined a neologism in the title because our language does not have an appropriate word for those who dig up mass graves. It is a factual and documentary prose, entirely based on the time/times and place of Western Bosnia and its places of pain – mass graves, cemeteries, Kozarac and other settlements around Prijedor and Sanski Most.
