The Buybook publishing house was founded in 1996 by writers Goran Samardžić and Damir Uzunović. Today, Buybook is one of the most important publishing houses and bookstores in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is highly respected and recognizable in the region as a unique brand that has published more than 800 titles to date. The editorial staff of the Buybook publishing house consists of three editors, Ida Hamidović, Lana Krstić and Ena Hasečić, and permanent collaborators – proofreaders, DTP specialists and designers – are also involved in the work on Buybook’s publications. The publishing activity is characterized by a high level of professional approach to all segments of the work – from careful selection of titles and communication with agencies – to direct work with authors and the best translators in the region. The editorial staff of the Buybook publishing house is located on Radićeva Street in Sarajevo, where the bookstore itself is located, which offers visitors a large number of domestic and foreign titles, as well as a cozy reading corner. There is another Buybook bookstore in the Mercator shopping mall in Tuzla. The Buybook publishing house has been the organizer of the Bookstan International Literature Festival since 2016.
