Marko Vešović was born in 1945 in the village of Pape near Bijelo Polje in Montenegro. He completed high school in Bijelo Polje, the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Philology in Belgrade. He worked as a professor at the Traffic School and the “Pero Kosorić” Gymnasium. In 1976, he was elected as an assistant at the Faculty of Philosophy, where he worked until 1986, when he became an editor at “Veselina Masleša”. He returned to the Faculty of Philosophy in 1992. He defended his doctoral dissertation “Language in the Poetry of Radovan Zogović” in 2002 at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo. He has published 30 books of poetry and prose, poetry translations, essays and polemics.
