Vlada Urošević (Skopje, 1934) is a Macedonian poet, prose writer, novelist, essayist and translator. He studied and received his doctorate at the University of Skopje, where as a full professor at the Faculty of Philology "Blaže Koneski" he taught the history of European literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Since 1959, he has published several collections of poems, several novels, books of literary criticism and essays, and travelogues. He is a member of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the European Academy of Poetry and the Slavic Academy of Literature and Arts. For his work on the convergence of French and Macedonian poetry, the Government of the Republic of France named him a Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature, and then an Officer of the same order. His books have been translated into English, Bulgarian, German, Polish, Russian, Slovenian, French and Spanish.
