Johan August Strindberg was born on January 22, 1849  in Stockholm. He had to achieve literary fame wait until the beginning of the 20th century. Dramas made him famous, especially the most popular ones from the naturalistic cycle: "Father", "Miss Julia" and "Creditors". His preface to "Miss Julia" was announced manifesto of naturalism, although, when it comes to Strindberg, one should be careful straight-line thinking and any narrow literary-historical and literary-theoretical classification and "labeling".
