Burhan Sönmez (1965, Haymana, Turkey) grew up Speaking Kurdish and Turkish. He graduated in law in Istanbul, but also for political reasons he moved to Great Britain. He writes for numerous magazines on culture and politics including The Guardian , Der Spiegel , Die Zeit and La Repubblica . He has published four novels since the most famous of which are Istanbul, Istanbul and Labyrinth . His works have been translated into forty languages. He is the winner of the Vaclav Prize Havel in 2017 and EBRD - these awards for literature in 2018. Live on Cambridge – Istanbul route.
