Reza Amirkhani (Tehran, 1973) is one of the most prominent contemporary Iranian writers. Although he studied mechanical engineering, he began writing at the age of twenty, and just two years later, with his first novel, Ermya , he was declared an exceptional literary talent. He is the author of several novels and collections of stories, and also writes literary criticism and non-fiction. He has won numerous awards and his works have been translated into several languages. The novel Her I , published in 1999, is his best-known work and has seen fifty editions in Iran to date.
