Thomas Piketty was born in Paris in 1971. At the age of 18, he enrolled in the study of mathematics and economics, and at the age of 22, he obtained his doctorate. He is the head of studies at EHESS (Higher School of Social Sciences) and a professor at the Paris School of Economics. He has published numerous scientific articles in leading international journals ( Quarterly Journal of Economics, Journal of Political Economy, American Economic Review, Review of Economic Studies , etc.), and more than ten books.

He is the author of historical and theoretical works on the relationship between economic development and the distribution of wealth. His book Capital in the Twenty-First Century was a bestseller worldwide.
