Peter Maass has written about war and national security for the New York Times , the New Yorker , and the Washington Post . After covering the war in Bosnia, he covered the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to Love Thy Neighbor , he is the author of Crude World: The Violent Twilight of Oil , published in 2009. He graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and lives in Brooklyn, New York, with his wife and daughter.
