Mustafa Mustafić was born in 1942 in Sarajevo. In the early 1960s, he became a member of the Riječ mladih film club and Cinema Club Sarajevo. He studied at the Academy of Film Arts in Zagreb, a in 1965 he became a member of the Association of Film Workers. From 1969 to 1979, he worked as a cinematographer on Television Sarajevo. In 1980, he started working again as a freelance filmmaker worker and remains in that status until retirement. For several years he worked as lecturer of film photography for directing students at the Academy of Stage of art in Sarajevo. Today, he occasionally makes author's documentaries and teaches camerawork at the Sarajevo Film Academy. He is the president of the Association of Cinematographers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and winner of numerous awards and recognitions.
