Colum McCann (Dublin, 1965) is the author of seven novels and three collections of short stories. He has won numerous international awards, including the National Book Award, the IMPAC Dublin International Literary Award, the French government's Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres, several European awards, the 2010 China Foreign Language Novel Award, and an Oscar nomination. He has been a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Letters since 2017. His works have been translated into more than 40 languages. He is the President and co-founder of the global non-profit storytelling organization Narrative 4.
