Tugomir Matić was born in 1957 in Zagreb. He spent a large part of his life in Sarajevo, where he began to publish in literary periodicals. He published books of poems "Midnight in Sarajevo", "Between the Sky and the Earth", "Time of Silence", "Kartolina", "Pay attention to details", as well as the prose "Sarajevo Beer and Scandinavian Nights".

He lives in small Račišće on the island of Korčula.
