Barbara Matejčić is a freelance journalist and editor focused on social issues and human rights. He writes regularly for print and online media in Croatia and abroad. He cooperates with the Documentary Program of the Third Program of Croatian Radio and with international research, media and human rights organizations. She was awarded for the best written journalism in 2013 with the "Marija Jurić Zagorka" award (Croatian Journalists' Association, 2014), the winner of the "Krunoslav Sukić" Award for the Promotion of Peacemaking, Nonviolence and Human Rights (Peace Center, 2013) and recognition for the best monitoring of LGBT issues in Croatia in the period from 2000 to 2010 (Zagreb Pride, 2011). She is the winner of several European scholarships for journalistic work. She graduated in Croatian language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. She was born in Split (1975), lives in Zagreb. She is the author of the acclaimed narrative-journalistic book "How are you?" (published by the Heinrich Böll Foundation).
