Asmir Kujovic was born in 1973 in Novi Pazar, where he finished elementary school and gymnasium. He has been living in Sarajevo since 1990. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in in Sarajevo at the Department of Literature of the Peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He published collections of poems “Military Dream Book” (1997) and “Life After Death” (2000), as well as the novel “Who Trampled Mrs. Moon" (2002). He also published essays, travelogues, stories, literary, theatre and film criticism. He was awarded for his novel "Who trampled Mrs. Moon" Annual award of the Society of Writers of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the best published book in 2002. A bilingual edition of his was published in Vienna in 2005 a collection of selected poems under the title "Das versprochene Land / The Promised Land" in German and Bosnian. Poetic, prose and essay texts it is represented in numerous anthologies, overviews and panoramas of the contemporary world Bosnian literature. He was the editor-in-chief of Sarajevo Literary magazine "Lica" and editor at the publishing house "Vrijeme" from Zenica, and he also worked as a journalist in the newspapers "Slobodna Bosna", "BH Dani" and "Walter". Songs and stories were translated into English, German, French, Turkish, Flemish, Macedonian and Slovenian language. He is also the winner of the literary award "Pero Ćamil Sijarić" Sandžak Literary Meetings events.
