Şebnem İşigüzel (1973, Yalova, Turkey) studied anthropology at Istanbul University. She received the Yunus Nadi Award for her first book, Hanena Ay Doğacak , published in 1993, and the Duygu Asena Award for Konak suza. which is awarded in memory of the writer and human rights activist of the same name. She lives and works in Istanbul.
