Judith Hermann (Berlin, 1970) is one of the most famous contemporary German writers. Her debut novel Sommerhaus, später was a revolutionary for the short story genre in contemporary German literature. Her second collection of short stories Nichts als Gespenster was made into a film of the same title. This was followed by the collections of short stories Alice and Lettipark as well as her first novel Aller Liebe Anfang . Since 1999, she has been awarded a large number of literary prizes, including the Hugo Ball, Heinrich von Kleist, Friedrich Hölderlin, Erich Fried and Blixenprisen prizes. For her novel Dom , she won the literary prizes of the city of Bremen, the Rheingau region and the LiteraTour Nord. Her books have been translated into over twenty languages.
