Florence Hartmann (1963), a French journalist and author of several investigative nonfiction works, worked for eleven years for the leading French newspaper Le Monde, for which she reported on the events preceding the war in the former Yugoslavia, as well as the war itself. She was the spokesperson and counsel for the prosecutor at the International Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda. Now, as a writer, she continues to analyze international politics and defend human rights. She is the author of four books: Milošević: The Diagonal of Madmen , Peace and Punishment: The Secret Wars of International Politics and Justice , Whistleblowers: The Unclean Conscience of Our Democracies , and The Blood of Realpolitik: The Srebrenica Affair is her last title, published in 2015.
