Amela Hadžimejlić is an academic graphic artist and visual artist, born in 1969 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo (1989–1993), attended special studies in the field of graphic design at Nottingham Trent University, UK (1994/95), attended postgraduate studies (1996–1998), and received her master's and doctorate in the field of fine arts - graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo. She has presented herself to the public with thirty-four solo exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. She has participated in more than 250 collective exhibitions, international, selective and graphic biennials and triennials. Her works are in nineteen art collections, museums and galleries outside Bosnia and Herzegovina. During her many years of exhibition activity, her visual research and interests are very diverse and equally move within traditional, multimedia and conceptual expression. She has won several awards for her expression in classical and contemporary media. She is a member of the Association of Fine Artists and the Association of Artists of Fine and Applied Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She served as the Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo from 2011 to 2015. She lives in Sarajevo and works as a full professor for the artistic fields of drawing and graphics at the Department of Graphics, Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo.

Amela Hadžimejlić is a printmaker and visual artist who lives and works in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia in 1969, she studied printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo (1989–1993) where she received her BA, and continued her studies at Nottingham Trent University, UK,
in the field of graphic design (1994/95). She gained her master's and doctorate in the field of fine art/printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo. She has had over 30 solo exhibitions in BiH and abroad, and has participated in over 250 group exhibitions, including biennial and triennial exhibitions. Her work can be found in many private art collections and in museums and galleries outside of BiH. Her research and interests are highly diverse and her range of activities includes traditional, multimedia and conceptual art. She has won several awards for her work in both classical and contemporary media and is a member of the Association of Fine Artists and the Association of Fine and Applied Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 2011 to 2015 she held the position of Dean of the Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo. She holds the title of Professor in the fields of drawing and printmaking in the Printmaking Department of the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo.
