Guzelj Yahina is Russian. writer and screenwriter of Tatar roots. Her debut novel Zulejha opens eyes , based on experience her grandmother, he achieved great success. It has been translated into more than thirty languages, and a TV series of the same name was filmed. He won important literary awards among to whom they  The Big Book and Jasna Poljana. At the International Book Fair in Moscow, it was declared the best prose work. He was in the final for the Russian Booker Prize and shortlisted for the EBRD Prize. The echelon for Samarkand is her last novel, also based on important events in the history of the USSR.
