Georgi Gospodinov (Yambol, 1968) is a Bulgarian poet, prose writer and playwright. His debut prose work, Natural Novel, was published in more than twenty languages, and with his second novel, The Physics of Grief , he won several literary awards, and was shortlisted for four international awards in Italy and Germany. The American edition of the novel was shortlisted for the PEN award for the best translation in 2016. For Vremensko skloniste , he received the Premio Strega literary award in 2021, and is currently shortlisted for the Booker International and the wider selection for the Impac Dublin International Literary Award.
