Goran Simić, poet, prose and dramatist, librettist, was born in 1952 in Yugoslavia, the last stop of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He spent most of his life in Sarajevo, where he worked as a professional writer as the editor-in-chief of the magazine Lica , and as the founder of the bookstores Valter and Renesansa . Since 1996, he has lived between Sarajevo and Toronto (Canada), where he has worked as a guest writer at Massey College, the University of Guelph, the Banff Center for the Arts, and the University of Edmonton. He founded the publishing company Luna Publications . He has published numerous books of poetry and prose, drama, and librettos. His books have been translated into about fifteen foreign languages, and his poetry has been included in Bosnian and Herzegovina poetry anthologies as well as in anthologies of twentieth-century world poetry. He has received prestigious domestic and foreign awards, including PEN USA, the People Award, and the Award Association Canada. Since 2010, he has lived in Sarajevo with four adopted dogs.
