Elizabeth Gilbert (Connecticut, 1969) is an American author who has won several international awards. She studied political science at New York University . After college, she traveled the country for several years, working and gathering experiences, which she used to write her first book, a collection of short stories, Pilgrims . She worked as a journalist for various magazines for several years ( Spin, GQ, The New York Times Magazine ).

She published her first novel Stern Men in 2000, and the book The Last American Man in 2002. Her most famous book is Eat, Pray, Love, a megabestseller, published in 2006.
