Elena Favilli is an award-winning journalist and media entrepreneur. She has worked for Colors magazine , McSweeney’s , RAI , Il Post and La Repubblica , and has led digital editorial teams on both sides of the Atlantic. She holds a Master’s degree in Semiotics from the University of Bologna in Italy and studied Digital Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley. In 2011, Elena co-created the first iPad magazine for children, Timbuktu magazine, with Francesco Cavallo. She is the founder and CEO of Timbuktu Labs. Bedtime Stories for Rebel Girls is her fifth book for children.

Francesca Cavallo is a writer and award-winning theater director.

She holds a Master’s degree in Theatre Directing from the Paolo Grassi School of Dramatic Arts in Milan, Italy. Her award-winning plays have been staged across Europe. A passionate social innovator, Francesca founded Sferracavalli, an international festival of sustainable imagination in southern Italy. In 2011, Francesca co-founded Timbuktu Labs with Elena Favilli, where she serves as artistic director. Bedtime Stories for Rebel Girls is her seventh book for children.
