Nathan Englander was born in New York City in 1970. His short stories have appeared in The New Yorker and numerous anthologies, including The Best American Short Stories . His short story collection For the Relief of Unbearable Urges won the PEN/Malamud Award and the Sue Kaufman Award for First Published Book from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. The Ministry of Special Cases is his first novel.
He lives and works in New York.
