Bora Ćosić was born in 1932 in Zagreb. Writer
is an essayist and translator. In his youth, he translated Russian futurist poets,
and edited the newspaper Mlada kultura , the magazine Danas , and the magazine Rok . From surrealist
beginnings, House of Thieves (1956), he published about fifty books, of which
his most famous novel , The Role of My Family in the World Revolution , for which he received
NIN award for the best novel in 1970. Among the last novels
The most notable are Customs Declaration , Zero Land and Exiles , and the collection of poems Irenina soba . In addition to the NIN Award, he is the recipient of the Sterija Award for Best
comedy in 1971, also for My Family's Role in the World Revolution ,
then the Nolita Awards for the novel Tutors , the Leipzig Book Fair Awards for
European understanding, and many others. His works have been translated into German,
French, Italian, English, Hungarian and Russian languages.
