Marijana Čanak (Subotica, 1982) graduated from the University of Novi Sad with a degree in literature. She writes prose. She is a two-time winner of the “Laza K. Lazarević” literary award for the best unpublished contemporary short story. She has published the prose book Ulični prodavci ulica (2002), the short story collection Pramatere (2019, 2023) and the novel Klara, Klarisa (2022), which was a finalist for the NIN and Vital awards. Put od crvene cigle is her second short story collection.
