Almir Basovic, born in 1971 in Sarajevo.
Graduated, master's degree and doctorate at the Faculty of Philosophy in Sarajevo, where he teaches at Department of Comparative Literature. He participated in about twenty international symposiums and congresses, he published about thirty professional articles and theoretical essay, and together with Sav Anđelković edited the collection Drama and Time (Dobra knjiga, Sarajevo, 2010).
He worked as playwright for several plays at the National Theatre Sarajevo. He is the author of the plays Visions from the Silver Age (first performance: Narodno pozorište Sarajevo, 2003) and RE: Pinocchio (first performance in Albanian language: CTC Skopje, 2006, microdramas Second Europe (presented as part of the Biennial of European Playwrights in Bonn, 2002) and the dramatic monologue Faces (premiere in German, in within the play Balkan Requiem , Hundsturm – Volkstheater, Vienna, 2014).
He is the author of the book Chekhov and Space (Sterijino pozorje, Novi Now, 2008; Slovenian edition: MGL Library, Ljubljana, 2013). It was published in Paris a book of his plays in French (Theatrum noctuaubndi, 2008), a His plays have also been translated into Albanian, Macedonian, Czech, German and Italian. language.
At the Festival of Bosnia and Herzegovina drama in Zenica, 2004, the drama Prividjena from the Silver Age won the prize for the best dramatic text in the competition The European Theatre Convention (ETC) has included it among the 120 best contemporary European pieces.
