Jakuta Alikavazovic (1979, Paris) is a French writer of Bosnian and Montenegrin descent. She was born and lives in Paris, where she studied at the Ecole Normale Superieure. Her first novel Corps Volatils won the Goncourt Prize for best first novel, and her second and third novels – Le Londres-Luxor and La Blonde et Le Bunker – won awards in France and Italy. Her fourth novel Kako noć odmiče won the Prix du Zorba , and the editorial board of Lire magazine declared it the French discovery of the year. Kako noć odmiče was also shortlisted for the Le Monde literary prize, then the Prix Médicis , Prix Femina and Prix du Livre Inter . For the essay Comme un Ciel en Nous, Alikavazovic won the Prix Medicis Essai 2021. She is a regular columnist for the daily newspaper Libération and a professor of English literature at the Sorbonne in Paris.
