"Ask Miječka" by Yevgenia Kuznetsova on sale soon

Yevgeniya Kuznetsova (1987) is a Ukrainian author and translator. She grew up in the village of Khomutyncy in central Ukraine. She graduated from the National University of Kyiv and then did her PhD in Spain. Ask Miyechka, her second novel, was shortlisted for the BBC News Ukrainian Book of the Year and won a special mention from the jury that awards the European Union Prize for Literature.

Lilička and Miječka grow pumpkins. As the summer passes, so does the dilapidated house and the lives of the main characters change irreversibly. They make decisions that will change their lives forever, and grandmother Thea, on the threshold of ninety-seven years, is the figure around whom all the important events of that summer will take place.

Yevgeniya Kuznetsova told a deeply intimate story about family relationships, and the vivid dialogues in which the most sensitive things often remain unspoken, especially complement the atmosphere of the novel, and highlight the special bonds between women of different generations.
